For this campaign, I set out to celebrate the resilience and unique energy of Charles Street businesses as they rebounded after the recent fires. With less than a week to fully design and develop the campaign—from concept to creation—I focused on creating a bold, cohesive visual identity that would stand out and inspire support.
Design Process:
Concept Development: Starting with a clear theme of resilience, I aimed to convey strength and optimism through the "Charles St. is Open for Biz!" message. This slogan became the anchor for the campaign, embodying the spirit of recovery and community.
Color & Style Choices: Moving away from Baltimore’s usual color palette, I chose vibrant, unexpected colors to bring a fresh perspective and draw attention to the campaign. The lively scheme is designed to capture the unique energy of each business and make the visuals pop.
Personalized Spotlights: Each design showcases an individual business owner, placing their personality and resilience at the forefront. With bold typography and playful shapes, I crafted each portrait to feel dynamic and approachable, inviting the community to reconnect with these beloved businesses.
Imagery & Composition: Using layered textures and iconic Charles Street landmarks, I balanced each design to celebrate both the city and its resilient business owners. The compositions reflect movement and vitality, reinforcing the campaign’s call to action.
Working under tight deadlines and adapting to last-minute changes, I was able to deliver a visually compelling campaign that shines a spotlight on these local businesses, helping them reconnect with the community and reminding Baltimore that Charles Street is open for business.
